After the death of Birdy, the telepath who helped him, he is looking for a replacement and ends up clashing with Maverick.
A chance is offered to him by the Yashida Clan, who hides an old telepath.
The X-Men intervene too late to save the old man, but push Creed towards Xavier.
Xavier manages to help him and agrees to host him in Westchester.
