Doctor Stasis transforms a group of animals into monsters that attack New York.
The X-Men attack them, but only Cyclops, Wolverine (X-23), Burning Sun and Synch are present.
Cyclops dies saving a newborn from Bornan, the assistant of Dr. Stasis, who tears his throat open.
Upon awakening Scott discovers that he cannot return to New York, having died in public.
To replace him, Force creates a Krakoa-controlled armor, Captain Krakoa.
