The beautiful mutants are on holiday in Madripoor when they are attacked by a mysterious terrorist group.
Rachel appears to switch to the enemy, but transmits her plan to Kitty, telepathically.
Behind the assault hides a human woman, Baroness Krieg, who has a technology capable of disempowering mutants and also making her immune to their attacks.
The woman intends to exploit the telepathy of Emma Frost and Rachel Summers to cause a nuclear war and to place the blame on the mutants.
The X-Women find themselves in trouble when temporarily disempowered, but still manage to fight back.
The Baroness is defeated and her plans thwarted, so the girls can end their holidays happily.
The lightness of Manara's women blends perfectly in this story, thanks also to the help of Claremont, who has always added spice to his mutants.
