A group of actresses travels around the United States staging plays in which they play both roles.
Electricity shortages have made TVs and cinemas obsolete, so they are quite successful.
One day they find Ampersand, Yorick's monkey, injured in the forest.
They are surprised to discover it is a male and are inspired to make a comedy called "The Last Man."
Yorick Brown, Agent 355 and Dr. Mann arrive while they are staging the new play, to recover the monkey.
Yorick is shocked by the ending, where the last man commits suicide to give women the opportunity to save themselves.
In the second part Yorick is left alone with a colleague of Agent 355, Agent 711, while they take Ampersand to the hospital.
711 drugs Yorick and forces him to face his fears, using bondage techniques.
Yorick admits that he thought about suicide during the first days after the epidemic.
From that moment he deliberately put himself in danger, hoping to die.
Yorick leaves the house of 711 aware of his problem and more balanced.
After their departure, Agent 711 is killed by three agents from the Setauket Ring, another secret agency rivaling the Culper Ring, covered with a burka.
